Bayon Temple, Siem Reap, Cambodia


This amazing temple called Bayon temple was recognized as the heart of Angkor Thom city in the past. It is about 10 mins walk to the north of Angkor Wat temple. In the late 12th or early 13th century, Bayon Temple was built as the official state of the Buddhist King Jayavarman VII. During that time, it is a famous and richly decorated Khmer temple.

Angkor Wat Temple


Angkor Wat is a largest religious monument in the world. The land site of the temple is 162.6 hectares. The temple was built by king Yasavarman II in 1113 to 1150 to dedicated to the god Vishnu. The temple was originally Hindu temple, however toward the end of the 12th century the temple was transformed into a buddhist temple. The word Angkor means "city" in English and Wat means "pagoda" in English. 

Angkor Wat temple is at the top of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. Nowadays, Angkor is a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on the national flag, and it is also an attractive temple that many people around the world wish to visit on their holiday.
